After a very challenging experience with a previous contractor, we were extremely cautious about who we hired to complete our kitchen renovation in Waterloo Region. From our first meeting, Jason stood out for his professionalism, honesty, attention to detail, and knowledge of high-end tile installation and kitchen finishing work. Jason carefully assessed the issues left behind by the previous contractor and recommended starting fresh to ensure the project was completed properly. We hired him to complete a complex herringbone backsplash installation in our kitchen — a design that required significant precision and skill. In order to achieve the clean, seamless finish we wanted, Jason rebuilt sections of the supporting wall to create perfectly flat surfaces before beginning the tile work. The final result completely transformed our kitchen. The craftsmanship, alignment, finish quality, and overall attention to detail exceeded our expectations. The kitchen now has the upscale custom look and feel we were hoping for. Beyond the quality of work, Jason was fair, transparent, reliable, and clearly committed to doing the job the right way rather than taking shortcuts. In today’s market, finding a contractor you can genuinely trust in Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, or Cambridge is not easy — and Jason earned that trust with us. When I hire a contractor, I expect them to understand and follow the building code. We hired Tiger Elite Construction to do some finish work in our basement and main floor. Our basement was being converted into a legal permitted duplex, but the permit was ours and Jason was helping with final touches. When he gave us his estimate he seemed friendly and unfortunately we trusted him. The situation and mess he created for us was unprofessional. Jason charged us for a licensed electrician to tidy up some wiring that he "claims" was dangerous. He tried to charge us a $350 "hazard fee" because "BaJesus was scared out of him." No visible signs of damage on any wiring nor connectors. ALL electrical passed the ESA final inspection! He also installed a new sink and the plumbing did not pass the city inspection. We had to pay for a professional plumber to re-do Jason's work. We trusted Jason and we clearly should not have. Jason installed flooring in several rooms but refused to trim the doors unless we pay a $150.00 fee per door. I trimmed all four in 20 minutes myself. Jason was hired to install a range hood and his work on the venting did not pass city inspection. A competent contractor was hired to re-do Jason's work. Jason simply refused to install the shower door and wash basin he had promised to install. We were in Oregon and California visiting family during the construction. Our next door neighbours checked on the house periodically. He sent approximately 5-7 texts or emails to me where he demanded final payment before we returned home to check the final results. This caused us undue stress and almost ruined our vacation! There were drips of blood left on the flooring, which we feel is not professional either. We have included photos for viewing. Jason filed the preliminary paperwork to put a lien on our house which we were selling, but failed to file the required paperwork in court to see a judge to decree a decision. We had to hire an attorney to have this removed before close of sale, even though the Jason's final court documents were not filed. He is not only untrustworthy, but also dishonest and unethical. Always clawing for more dollars. Do NOT trust Jason with any construction project! Run, don't walk.
