Great experience - we found BCH to be highly capable, reliable, and responsive. BCH completed a major house renovation for us a couple of years ago. The main principal is Alex, he's a very sensible architect with hands-on experience doing the renovation work himself. Alex simplified a complex process so we could understand the steps and monitor progress / timing / budget along the way. When discussing design, quotes, and any changes, Alex was also able to explain how something could be done, or if it was not technically feasible/practical. We find Alex to be candid and honest with his recommendations, which helps the project move forward and get done on time. The crew took pride and ownership in their work, and were happy to give us a tour and update anytime we stopped by. Alex makes himself available and stands by his work (he does not disappear or become less responsive once a project is over). A few months ago, BCH completed a second / smaller project for us. We had the same positive experience as before. We first learned about BCH through a friend who retained Alex on three projects over 8 years (house reno, basement reno, and some landscaping). They had great feedback on BCH/Alex, and seeing the durability and quality of the work over time helped with our decision to chose BCH. We are happy with BCH and will call Alex again on future projects.

Amazing team. Love my washrooms. They made the process from design to completion seamless.
I’ve used Alex and his crew twice over the years. BCH Design delivers a first rate experience from consultation and design to project management, implementation and sign off. Alex is an honest, experienced, knowledgeable contractor who operates his business with integrity and professionalism. He gets projects done on time and on budget and is customer focused. He won’t hesitate to draw on his many years of experience to offer advice when he sees that the customer’s vision isn’t realistic in relation to the project budget/schedule or could become problematic at some point down the road. When there are issues beyond the customer’s knowledge or the contractor’s control, Alex is very responsive and takes a solutions oriented approach. There is no shortage of contractor horror stories out there so grateful to know a trustworthy contractor like Alex and BCH Design!
Used BCH for a full basement renovation + potlights on the main floor. It was a very personable yet professional experience from Day 1. Alex’s quote was clear/concise and included detailed descriptions on what was to be done along with pricing. It was his willingness to come measure the space, provide a quote and a sample drawing of what he envisioned for the basement with my input that put him ahead of the rest of the companies I met with. The execution went along as planned. We did run into some hiccups about material availability/preferences but those were handled well with replacement material and adjusted costing. No funny business and nickel and diming. If he didn’t carry what we wanted, we were able to source it ourselves. We were so happy with the progress of the basement that we added another project midway through which was adding potlights to the main floor. I’ve been recommending BCH to my family and friends and will continue doing so.
When deciding who to hire for my house renovations, I received four different quotes from four different contractors. In the end, I’m so glad I went with my gut and hired Alex and his team. It was hands down the best decision. From the very beginning, their communication was incredibly quick and responsive. Every time I had a question, they replied promptly, clearly, and with patience, which made the entire process completely stressfree. That level of responsiveness alone already set them apart. Their entire team was an absolute pleasure to work with as they were professional, respectful, and genuinely easygoing. What really stood out to me was their honesty. There was no upselling, no cutting corners, and no surprises. They were transparent every step of the way and truly cared about doing the job right. The quality of work and attention to detail exceeded my expectations. You can tell they take pride in what they do, and everything was done meticulously and with care. On top of that, their speedy communication and efficiency kept the project moving smoothly without ever compromising quality. If you’re debating between contractors, take it from someone who did the homework, hire Alex and his team. I highly recommend them and I look forward to working with them again in the future!
